Oktoberfest 2027

Oktoberfest Opening Hours and Table Reservations 2027

When the tents open, when beer service ends, how you get a table and what works without a reservation. In Munich the Oktoberfest is called the Wiesn, after the Theresienwiese, the grounds where it takes place; the details here apply to the Wiesn from 18 September 2027 to 3 October 2027 and match previous years. The City of Munich publishes the binding times for 2027 before the festival begins on the official Oktoberfest page.

Opening Hours of the Festival Tents

Weekdays from 10 am, weekends from 9 am

As in previous years, Monday to Friday the large tents open at 10 am, Saturday and Sunday at 9 am. Beer service ends at 10:30 pm, and so does the music; at 11:30 pm the tents close. Two exceptions stay open longer: the Käfer Wiesn-Schänke and Kufflers Weinzelt until 1 am, with last orders at 12:30 am.

On opening day, Saturday, 18 September 2027, the tents open at 9 am; beer is served only after the Anstich, the tapping of the first keg, expected at noon in the Schottenhamel tent. On the final day, Sunday, 3 October 2027, the Wiesn ends with the gun salute in front of the Bavaria statue at noon and the regular tent closing in the evening.

Festival Grounds and Rides

Until 11:30 pm, Fridays and Saturdays until midnight

The festival grounds are open daily from 10 am, at weekends from 9 am. The rides run Monday to Thursday until 11:30 pm, Friday and Saturday until midnight, Sundays until 11:30 pm. Admission to the Theresienwiese is free; only the Oide Wiesn, the historic Oktoberfest section in the southern part of the grounds, charges admission and closes at 10:30 pm.

Tuesdays are family days with reduced prices at the rides until 7 pm. For an Oktoberfest escort date the quietest hours are Monday to Thursday between 10 am and 4 pm; from 5 pm and at weekends the tents are full.

Table Reservations in the Tents

Through the tent landlords, from spring, against food and drink vouchers

You reserve tables neither with the city nor with us, but with each Festwirt, the tent landlord, individually through the website of his tent. The reservation itself is free of charge; the landlord sells food and drink vouchers with it, usually two Maß, the one-litre mugs of beer, and half a roast chicken per person, so around EUR 60 to 90 per seat. Reservations are made for whole tables of eight or ten people, in the boxes and galleries also for smaller groups.

The reservation windows open in spring; evenings and weekends at the large tents are allocated early, so as a visitor from abroad you rarely get a table at short notice. What is still open in September: mornings and afternoons on weekdays, the occasional returned table, and the Mittagswiesn, the lunchtime offer from Monday to Friday between 10 am and 3 pm with lower prices in many tents.

Into the Tent Without a Reservation

Unreserved areas, beer garden, early hours

Every tent keeps seats that cannot be reserved, usually in the middle and in the beer garden in front of it. If you arrive Monday to Thursday before 4 pm, you will usually find a seat there. From late afternoon and at weekends the tents manage entry by closing their doors for a while; then the smaller tents, the Oide Wiesn or a table in the beer garden are the alternatives.

For a Wiesn escort date this means: tell us in your enquiry whether you have a table or not. Without a reservation we plan the tent visit for the early afternoon and the dinner or the evening at your hotel afterwards. With a reservation we match meeting point and time to your table.

Visiting a Tent With a Companion: Who Handles What

In your enquiry you name the day, the tent and the time. LEA Escort® checks whether the lady you have chosen accompanies guests on that day and agrees a meeting point with you: an entrance to the Theresienwiese, the Theresienwiese underground station (U4/U5) or the lobby of your hotel. The table reservation stays with you, because the tent landlords issue tables to the guest only.

Without a table, plan a weekday visit before 4 pm; then the two of you walk into the large tents without queueing. The ladies who accompany guests are shown on the sedcards of the Wiesn escort ladies, each with her fee in euros.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions on Opening Hours and Reservations

What guests most often want to know before a Wiesn visit with a companion.

When do the tents open at Oktoberfest 2027?

Monday to Friday at 10 am, Saturday and Sunday at 9 am, as in previous years. On opening day, 18 September 2027, the tents open at 9 am, and beer is served from the Anstich, the tapping of the first keg, expected at noon.

When do the tents close?

Beer service ends at 10:30 pm, the tents close at 11:30 pm. The Käfer Wiesn-Schänke and Kufflers Weinzelt stay open until 1 am, last orders at 12:30 am.

How do I reserve a table in a festival tent?

Directly with the tent landlord through the website of the respective tent. The reservation is free of charge, combined with food and drink vouchers of around EUR 60 to 90 per person. The windows open in spring, and evenings and weekends at the large tents are allocated early.

Can I get into a tent without a reservation?

Yes, into the unreserved areas and the beer gardens, most reliably Monday to Thursday before 4 pm. From late afternoon and at weekends full tents close their doors for a while.

Does LEA Escort® take care of the table reservation?

The reservation is between you and the tent landlord. The agency in Munich answers your enquiry in English and matches meeting point, time and the evening afterwards to your table; without a table it plans the tent visit for the early afternoon and the dinner or the evening at your hotel afterwards.

How do I get to the Theresienwiese?

By U-Bahn, the underground, on line U4 or U5 to Theresienwiese, on U3 or U6 to Goetheplatz or Poccistraße, or by S-Bahn, the suburban rail, to Hackerbrücke. From the main station it is a ten-minute walk. If you fly in, you land at Munich Airport (MUC), about 40 minutes from the city by S-Bahn S1 or S8 or by taxi. Taxis stop at the taxi ranks around the grounds, not on the Wiesn itself.
